Advanced Silicon-on-Sapphire Sensor Technology
The HI2000 utilizes state-of-the-art Silicon-on-Sapphire (SOS) technology.
The piezoresistive silicon strain gauge circuit is epitaxially grown onto a sapphire diaphragm, forming a single crystalline structure. This sensor element is molecularly bonded to a titanium alloy sub-diaphragm, enabling:
- Exceptional over-pressure capability
- Superior corrosion resistance
- Virtually zero hysteresis
- High electromagnetic pulse resistance
- Wide temperature operation without performance loss
This makes the HI2000 ideal for high reliability and mission-critical environments.
Intrinsically Safe & Hazardous Area Options
An intrinsically safe version is available for operation in:
- Flammable gas environments (Zone 0)
- Combustible dust environments (Zone 20)
ATEX and IECEx certified configurations are available for global hazardous area compliance.
Typical Applications
- Aerospace pressure measurement systems
- Laboratory and calibration equipment
- Oil and gas down-hole monitoring
- Subsea pressure measurement
- High-temperature industrial processes
Why Choose the HI2000?
Compared to conventional pressure sensors, the HI2000 offers:
- Higher long-term stability
- Greater temperature tolerance
- Superior corrosion resistance
- Reduced lifecycle costs
- Reliable operation in extreme environments
